Northern Mount Pleasant Area Development Update
The CNCA Board of Directors continues to follow the development of
properties in the Charleston National Country Club area, including
Oakland Plantation and Carolina Park, the site of the future Roper
Hospital, and the condominium tract within Charleston National
Subdivision. Over the last several years, Board representatives have
met with developers to view proposed plans and have been given the
opportunity for community input. Board representatives also have met
with Town officials over the impact on Charleston National traffic
by the opening of Wando High School. In addition, the Board has met
and discussed with Mount Pleasant officials and has given input on
the Town plans for future roadways, including the extension of South
Morgan’s Point Road, the opening of Porcher’s Bluff Road at National
Drive, and additional traffic signals on Highway 17.
